Wave

Wave crashes into another.
Gushing forward, unrestrained
Wave merges with another.
Sinking into the slippery depths,
Wave forgets it is water.
When the wave ‘goodbye’ is all that remains,
The pushing of the tides is unwavering.

Until…

Wave remembers to flow back home.
Steady current streams through,
Delivering the splash of a gentle wave ‘hello’.
By what had been washed away,
Wave is flooded once again…
Surging from within,
Pouring down from another.
Wave now knows it is ocean,
Boundless is the overflow.
